Ramifications Of The New Tax Law
The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (the “Act”) was passed into law on December 22, 2017 and presents the largest tax reform in the US in thirty years. While the Act touts numerous benefits to for-profit businesses and individuals, it contains a host of provisions, which may present immediate fundraising and operational issues for nonprofit organizations. We will review all of the material provisions of the Act that affect the nonprofit sector, and assess their implications from a policy standpoint. Attendees will be invited to discuss their views of these tax code changes to both the sector as a whole and to the nonprofit organizations for which they work, support, or volunteer.
