Anne was born and raised in Sylva, North Carolina and graduated magna cum laude from Western Carolina University in 1997. After college, Anne attended and graduated from Wake Forest School of Law in 2001. While in law school, Anne served a term as President of the Public Interest Law Organization (PILO), and accepted a national award in that same year on behalf of this Wake Forest School of Law organization. Anne was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 2001 and practiced as a litigator and Certified Mediator in Raleigh and Winston-Salem prior to moving to Hilton Head with her family in 2011. Anne is married to Scott and their son Luke is 17 and an avid fisherman. Anne was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2013 and worked in private practice until accepting the position as Executive Attorney of the Low Country Legal Volunteers in January of 2015. Anne is honored to serve as Executive Attorney and to serve the needs of low income individuals in the communities of Beaufort, Hampton and Jasper. It is Anne’s desire to ensure that our clients are provided equal access to justice. As Executive Attorney, Anne acts as the attorney-of-record on just about every case that comes through the door. While she relies upon volunteers for much of the work that goes into preparing a case, Anne manages all aspects of the services provided to clients – from deciding which cases to accept to determining how to pursue each case. Anne supervises both the lay volunteers and the volunteer attorneys.
