Originally from Bel Air, Maryland, Bailey Schorr is a recent Psychology graduate of the University of South Carolina – Beaufort. He is employed as a Program Associate at Community Foundation of the Lowcountry. Bailey primarily works with Field-of-Interest groups like Women in Philanthropy and PEARLS of Hampton County – two women’s giving circles. He manages the Community Foundation’s competitive grant programs, including Impact, Investment, Disaster Recovery, Opportunity, and Organizational Development grants. Bailey found his passion in nonprofit work through a public health project he initiated at USCB, which involved acquiring a grant to build a hydroponic vegetable garden in the campus’ greenhouse. The garden provides free produce to the local Boys and Girls Club; many of the members of the club live in a food desert and lack access to fresh produce. Working on this project left a strong impression on Bailey, and cemented his desire to pursue a career in charitable work.
