Naomi Torfin-Lett is the Senior Director of Public Policy with the United Way Association of SC since July of 2015. Previously, she was the Executive Director of Children Come First, a 501 (c) 4 lobbying non-profit focused on systemic reforms in child welfare. Naomi has worked in the policy sector and developing innovations within state agencies for 6 years before taking the UWASC Senior Director position. While in her previous position, Naomi assisted in the successful passage of two major pieces of legislation and facilitated the development of key innovations in the state’s child welfare system, gaining $1.5 million in innovation investment dollars from the state General Assembly.
Naomi is a graduate of James Madison University in Virginia, served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Niger, West Africa and has spent her 15- year career working in the non-profit sector.
