Russell Stall refers to himself as a boomerang – someone who grew up in Greenville, moved away and didn’t return for many years because Greenville wasn’t progressive enough. According to Councilmember Stall, during the 16 years he was away, Greenville changed, becoming a place where he wanted his family to grow and thrive. After returning, Councilmember Stall founded Greenville Forward, a nonprofit organization responsible for facilitating and shepherding a community vision for Greenville. Through Greenville Forward, Councilmember Stall worked to make a genuine difference in the future of Greenville County and its residents and visitors and encouraged other community organizations and leaders to do the same.Councilmember Stall is past president of the Rotary Club of Greenville and has served on numerous boards including The Warehouse Theatre, St. Francis Hospital Foundation, Metropolitan Arts Council, Greenville Chamber of Commerce, Cancer Society of Greenville County, Project Host Soup Kitchen, Greenville University Center, Friends of the Greenville Zoo and the United Negro College Fund. He was the Leadership Greenville Alumni of the Year in 2013 and has been named one of Greenville’s Most Influential People by Greenville Business Magazine three times.
