Let’s Talk Race; advancing interracial relations through conversation
Co-presented by Race to the Table and Richland Library, participants will engage in facilitated small group discussion designed to examine personal assumptions and biases and other’s perspectives about the reality of racism.
- To examine our personal perceptions about the reality of racism and white privilege (or skin privilege). These are not just terms but experiences and we may not interpret them in the same way.
- To look at our personal reactions to people of other races and the assumptions we make.
- To look at our relationships, or lack of relationships, with people of other races, and to consider how we can be change agents and widen our circle of diversity.
