Dr. Anthony Broughton, affectionately known as “Mister B or Dr.B”, is a native of Cross, South Carolina. Dr. Broughton is a graduate of Benedict College, and the “highly acclaimed” Call Me MISTER program, who has shared his passion for education as a certified teacher, 4K regional coordinator for the State Department of Education, and now Assistant Professor of Education. He advocates for culturally relevant and sustaining teaching approaches through his work as an author/illustrator, children’s musical artist, and an educational consultant; who’s kindergarten-first grade classroom scored 100 % criteria met during the NAEYC accreditation visit. As a leader in the field, Dr. Broughton also engages in educational advocacy and service outside of the classroom as a Governing Board member for the National Association for the Education of Young Children; and an active member of the South Carolina Association for the Education of Young Children Board; South Carolina Early Childhood Association District 7 Board; and several others. He is a life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
