Mamie is a Greenwood native, graduate of Greenwood High School, Piedmont Technical College, Limestone College and the Council on Foundations Institute for New Staff.
She is also a graduate of Leadership Greenwood, Leadership South Carolina, the SC Diversity Leaders Initiative at Furman University, Rotary Leadership Institute and received certification in Advanced Proposal Analysis from The Grantmaking School at Grand Valley State University and Nonprofit Management from Winthrop University.
Mamie currently serves as a member of the Greenwood County Hospital Board (Self Regional Healthcare), SC Grantmakers Network and the SECF 2020 Family Foundation Forum Planning Committee.
She is a founding member of the Greenwood Women’s Leadership Council, Greenwood’s Nonprofit Council, Greenwood County Community Foundation and Greenwood Care.
She served as co-chair of the Inaugural Upstate Women’s Leadership Conference held in March 2012 and as a member of the Planning Committee for the 2013, 2015, 2017 & 2019 conferences.
Mamie has previously served as a member of the Lander University Board of Trustees, the Greenwood County Community Foundation board, the SC Grantmakers Network Steering Committee, United Way of Greenwood & Abbeville Counties Board member and chair, United Way of Greenwood & Abbeville Counties Campaign Chair, SC State Election Commission, Lander Foundation Board, Southeastern Council of Foundations Strategic Planning Committee, Program Committee member and annual meeting workshop presenter, Piedmont Technical College Business Advisory Committee member, SC Downtown Development Association board member, Leadership SC board member, SC National Heritage Corridor board member and Greenwood Area Habitat for Humanity board member.
She has also served on the CapitalBank Community Advisory Board, the Healthy Learners Greenwood Advisory Board, United Center for Community Care Board of Directors, Healthy Greenwood Communities Board, Greenwood School District 50 Safe and Drug Free Schools Advisory Board, Women’s Leadership Council Vice Chair and Greenwood School District 50 STEMS Advisory Committee.
She was named a 2010 Small Business Champion for Women in Business by the Small Business Administration, receiving recognition from the SC Senate and the SC House of Representatives and was named the WLC Woman of Excellence in 2014.
Mamie is a member of the Greenwood Rotary Club where she serves as Leadership Chair and is a Paul Harris Fellow.
