Biography

Mrs. Margo N. Jackson is the Director of Student Diversity, Inclusion & Engagement in the College of Education at the University of South Carolina. In addition, she serves at the Director of the Apple Core Initiative Program and the coordinator for the AACTE Holmes Scholar Program. She earned her Master of Arts in Elementary Education from South Carolina State University. Mrs. Jackson started her teaching career as an educator in elementary schools in Richland District One. In her ten years as a classroom teacher, she taught 5th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st. She later taught at the University of South Carolina in the Department of Instruction and Teacher Education for 10 years. Serving in the capacity of a clinical instructor and supervisor of interns. With more than 25 years of experience and passion for the field education she embeds close attention to developing and coordinating programs that provide access and opportunities for minority students to enter the profession of education.
