Marilyn L. Hemingway
Marilyn L. Hemingway is CEO and President of the Gullah Geechee Chamber of Commerce. She is an avid advocate for her Gullah Geechee community, the environment and green, renewable energy.
She founded the Gullah Geechee Chamber to raise global awareness of, profitability and sustainability of African American businesses and entities that support the Gullah community. Marilyn has extensive experience in advocacy, advertising, public relations, marketing and communications.
Marilyn was recently selected as co-chair of the SC Conference NAACP Environmental & Climate Justice committee organizing all SC branches in Environmental, Energy & Climate Justice.
She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and is a certified Social Impact Entrepreneurial Consultant through the Inplace Impact program of the College of Charleston. She is a registered fundraiser with the state of South Carolina and is currently pursuing Energy Justice Certification through the national NAACP.
