Scott Porter, MD, MBA, FACS, is an orthopaedic oncologist. He is also a clinical professor of orthopaedic surgery at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville, an adjunct professor in the department of bioengineering for the College of Engineering and Science at Clemson University and a consulting physician for Shriners Hospitals for Children-Greenville. He serves on the board of the American Orthopaedic Association, on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Aspen Global Leadership Network and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is past president of the South Carolina Orthopaedic Society and a former residency program director in the department of orthopaedic surgery at GHS.
Dr. Porter earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, and his medical degree at Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at Carolinas Medical Center and his fellowship in musculoskeletal oncology at the University of Chicago. He also earned a MBA from Northwestern University‚Äôs Kellogg School of Management.
