Katy Watkins

Katy Watkins joined Richland Library in 2015 as the volunteer coordinator. Before joining Richland Library, she spent 10 years with Richland School District One as the volunteer coordinator. Prior to that, she was the Education Liaison for Communities in Schools of South Carolina and the South Carolina Department of Education.

Katy holds a bachelor’s degree in hotel, restaurant, tourism administration from the University of South Carolina, as well has her international certification in volunteer administration form the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration. Katy joined the South Carolina Association for Volunteer Administration (SCAVA) and the Midlands Affiliat of SCAVA in 1998. She has served in various capacities on both boards and committee over the years including President, Secretary, Treasurer and conference chair. She also served at the chair of the transition committee when SCAVA closed in December 2020 and was reformed as the Volunteer Administrator Alliance with Together SC.
