Biography
Kim Fabian is Chief Experience Officer of Elevatr, a consulting firm that helps non-profit and service-based organizations build capacity, support human capital, and amplify impact. A leadership and communications expert whose career spans more than 30 years, Kim’s background provides a wealth of experiences that inform her work and perspectives – as a corporate professional, business owner, non-profit executive, and board chair. Kim has been recognized for her ability to develop and implement strategic vision, drive positive change, and motivate teams through transparency and meaningful vision. She has led projects to fuel transformational growth, strengthen brand awareness, and develop excellence in programming that fosters experiential learning, peak performance, access to the arts, workforce development, and community health.
In her most recent position as Executive Director of the Greenville Center for Creative Arts, Kim established financial and operational stability, led a strategic planning process that engaged over 200 community members, directed a facility renovation project, strengthened board development, and cultivated meaningful community partnerships to leverage resources and expand impact.
As Senior Vice President for Junior Achievement of Central Maryland, Kim managed growth of more than 100% in staff, budget, and program outreach. She also developed an online, open-source platform for career exploration, as well as a workplan for the construction of a JA flagship facility in Baltimore that is now complete and poised to serve more than 30,000 students and community members annually.
Prior to that, she was the inaugural director to launch the Maryland Metabolic Institute at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, which fostered a comprehensive wellness approach to improving community health for the diseases that arise from obesity.
For 18 years, Kim also ran a consulting firm that helped organizations maximize the impact of internal and external communications and build collaborative, high performance teams. Her clients included Johns Hopkins Medicine, Genesis Healthcare, Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems, T. Rowe Price, AEGON, and the U.S. Army, to name a few.
A published author and seasoned speaker, Kim has made more than 100 presentations to a variety of audiences and appeared on radio, TV, and print outlets across the country, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, First for Women, Selling Power, Fit, Baltimore Magazine, Baltimore Business Journal, and Greenville Journal. Her work has also received several honors, including those from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, American Association of Medical Colleges, National Health Information Awards, Public Relations Society of America, SmartCEO, Healthcare Advertising Awards, and United Way.
A dedicated community leader, Kim serves as a Vice President on the Towson University Foundation Board of Directors and is a Past President of the Towson University Alumni Association Board of Directors. In addition, Kim has served on boards and volunteered with several other non-profits, including Executive Women’s Network, Literacy Works, American Diabetes Association, Gilchrist Hospice, Business Volunteers Maryland, and Pets on Wheels.
Kim received her B.S. from Towson University. She also studied Applied Behavioral Science at Johns Hopkins University and has taken advanced courses in leadership development at Georgetown University and Case Western University.
