US/Canada Nonprofit Lead, Visit.org
Nikki Smith is a US/Canada Nonprofit Lead for Visit.org, which is an online social impact platform and service connecting nonprofits and social enterprises with corporations that are seeking meaningful employee engagement. Working with nonprofit organizations has been a lifelong passion for Nikki. This is evident in her work, as well as her service on several local boards in her hometown of Spartanburg, SC, which includes Uplift Outreach Center, Spartanburg Little Theatre, Hub City Brewfest, and the City of Spartanburg Public Safety Commission. Nikki also works year-round as the Volunteer Coordinator for Wild Goose Festival, managing 500+ volunteers each year during the annual festival. Prior to working with Visit.org, Nikki taught at the collegiate level, both at her alma mater of the University of South Carolina Upstate, Virginia College, and Southwest Tennessee Community College. Nikki is also deeply involved in politics – becoming a Clyburn Fellow in 2018, working as an Organizer for Elizabeth Warren for President in 2019, working as a Campaign Manager for an SC State Senate Campaign in 2020, and previously serving as 2nd Vice-Chair for the Spartanburg County Democratic Party. Nikki believes that teaching changes lives, politics shapes our future, and that nonprofit work makes us all better. She lives in Spartanburg, SC with her husband, Tony, her children, Carter and Cooper, and her beloved 14-year-old brindle puppy, Otis.
