A native of Cowpens, SC Victor Durrah, Jr. is a non-profit leader and has been recognized on numerous occasions for his community development work.
Victor earned an Associates Degree from Spartanburg Methodist College and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Non-Profit Administration and Management from the University of South Carolina Upstate. Victor has worked in fund-development for more than 15years focusing on youth development.
During his 16 year tenure in the Non Profit sector, Victor has been recognized as a graduate of the Spartanburg County Foundation Grassroots Leadership Program, Black History Maker of the Upstate, USC Upstate’s Young Alumni Award recipient (2021), and received the Mary L. Thomas Award for Civic Leadership and Community Change. Victor received The George W. Bush Points of Light Award for his community work during the global pandemic in 2020. Victor has served as the Community Services Chairman for the Gaffney Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Victor co-founded Brothers Restoring Urban Hope, Inc. in 2005 — a nonprofit organization that focuses on group mentoring for young men and women.
Victor received the Talented Tenth Award from the Urban League for his community development work in the African American Community. Victor received the 2021 Community Leadership Award from Atlanta Entertainment Basketball League and SLAM Magazine for his work with athletes and mentoring. Victor is currently attending Clemson University and plans to receive his Masters in Public Administration, and has received his Professional Fundraising Certificate from the Professional Development National Head Quarters of The Boy Scouts of America.
Victor currently serves as the Executive Director of Brothers Restoring Urban Hope, Inc. Victor also volunteers as a board member for The Spartanburg Community Indicators Project. Victor has been recognized three years consecutively as a top young professional in the nonprofit field by the Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce.
In Victor’s free time he enjoys coaching the youth at Born Anew Church through a Youth Team called AIM (Athletes In Ministry) Victor is married to the beautiful Jeanice Casey Durrah and they have toy poodle named Peace and a baby girl on the way.
