Wilma Moore
Biography
Wilma J Moore was born in Spartanburg, SC on June 3, 1960, to Mr. and Mrs. Feman Harold Jackson. She has 2 brothers, Feman H Jackson, III (Sneaky) who is deceased, and Victor O Jackson. She has a sister, Linda (Maxine) Hackett, who was instrumental in the growth of Wilma’s faith and her walk with the Lord. When she was 10 years old, the family moved to the Highland Community, where she made great lifelong friends and soon after that she fell in love with the love of her life, Timothy McCreary. Wilma graduated from Spartanburg High School in the top 10% of her class.
Wilma soon married Tim, and to them her beautiful daughter was born, Ambra Briana McCreary. Three and a half years after that, her son was born, Kiyounnie D Jackson, who has since transitioned on to be with God.
After the untimely death of her only beloved son, and through her work within the Highland Neighborhood Association, Wilma was afforded the opportunity to work as the Highland Community Outreach Advocate under the United Way of the Piedmont. She now serves as the face of hope for many of her friends and residents of the community. She also serves on the Usher Board Ministry and is a member of the Adult Missionary Society of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. She currently is attending Spartanburg Community College pursuing an AA degree, and she is a Certified Community Health Worker in the state of South Carolina. She is the secretary of the Highland Community Development Corporation and serves on the Executive Board of the Highland Neighborhood Association. She is also a Community Outreach Lead for the Moms Demanding Action Against Gun Violence. She graduated from the Spartanburg County Foundation’s Grassroots Leadership Development Institute with the Class of 2018.
